The RSPB Maidstone Local Group - About our Group

Home

The RSPB Maidstone Local Group was formed in the early 1970's by a dedicated few and over the last 40+ years membership has steadily grown to approximately 200 members. They include both novice and experienced birdwatchers and those with a general wildlife and conservation interest.

Our objectives are:

  1. To create an environment where people can share a common interest.
  2. Actively support the work of the RSPB and raise awareness of the society in the local community.
  3. Through conservation work restore and create habitat for the benefit of birds and all wildlife
  4. Raise funds for Local RSPB projects and recruit new society members

The group holds Indoor meetings every third Thursday in the month at the Grove Green Community Hall, Penhurst Close, Grove Green, Maidstone starting at 7:30pm.

Monthly Outdoor Field Trips are organised and led by an experienced leader able to help you spot and identify new birds and introduce you to new locations about the County and further afield.

We have 'Hands On' conservation days when you can come along and help the warden at an RSPB reserve.

We hold fund raising and sales events.
