Calendar of events:

John is a practising Ornitho-Egyptologist. All will be revealed in his talk that will give us an insight into the birds of this ancient kingdom. In brief a talk with an archaeological flavour.

David has re-created the lecture that so many people remember from 25 years ago when his book 'The Kingfisher' was first published. A story of one of our most beautiful and spectacular birds. David was the first person to photograph the kingfisher underground in the nest, diving for fish and grabbing a fish underwater. He will add to those original images with new unseen photos.

Please come along to this annual social event and support your local group by helping to raise funds for the RSPB. Let's see if we can beat last year's sum of nearly £400 raised for the Society.

Barry is a Biomedical Scientist, Birder, and is Kentish born and bred. He has travelled the world extensively and joins us once again to tell us about the highs and lows of birding in the West Indies.

A special Christmas social event that we can all join in. Please bring along your images, slide or digital, and share with like-minded people your wildlife experiences. Great food and lots of fun.

Eustace Barnes is a wildlife artist and, as a tour guide, widely travelled. He will introduce us to the birds of this magical kingdom, often referred to as the 'Land of the Thunder Dragon.'

Working in Kent, Brett is a widely respected Consultant Ecologist and it is this career path, coupled with his passion for wildlife, that has led Brett to become a highly regarded photographer.

David has had a life-long interest in birds and for many years was closely involved with the London Natural History Society and was their Recorder for a period. He is now a professional Ornithologist running his own bird company. Whether you are an experienced birdwatcher or beginner his talk will help you identify this tricky group of birds.

The AGM, which starts the night, is always concluded promptly leaving plenty of time for our speaker so please do not be put off from attending this annual formality. Sacha works for the RSPB at Sandy and he will concentrate on the international work and issues faced by the society including wildlife crime and worldwide conservation projects.

Simon is one of our youngest group members but has already taken on the responsibility of 'Field Trip Leader'. He is a student at Hadlow College and works as a volunteer with the RSPB at Tudeley Woods. Simon has an in depth knowledge of Mote Park, its history, flora and fauna.
